Random thoughts – scattered mind

I bought my Christmas present today!

Yup, that’s right.  I bought myself a Christmas present.  Ignoring all the hype around the Playstation 3 and the Wii, I bought a Xbox 360.  Since most of my current games will play on the new system, I can continue to enjoy my old games as well as expanding in to the new, better graphic games.  My old Xbox will be regifted and given to my nieces for Christmas, along with my copy of Monkey Ball Deluxe (the girls just love that game).  If anyone can recommend some games for the 360 which they enjoy, please let us know.

Movies: Casino Royale

Casino Royale – As I have said before, I will not spoil a movie that is currently in the theaters, so if you are looking for the inside scoop, you’ve come to the wrong place.  However, I will tell you that this movie is great!  If you have any reservations against the movie due to Daniel Craig playing James Bond, you better lose them.  He pulls off the role quite well, and I am looking forward to him becoming the franchise actor for some time to come. Plant a tree. Save the world?

Last month, Nobel laureate and environmentalist Wangari Maathai called for a global initiative to plant one billion trees to help fight off global warming and climate changes.  Ms. Maathai, the first female African to win the Nobel Peace Prize, says “Anyone can dig a hole; anyone can put a tree in that hole and water it.  And everyone can make sure that the tree they plant survives.”  While I support Ms. Maathai’s idea, I believe there are a few flaws in her logic.  [Read the rest of this entry...]
